A hörspiel about ‘care work’ of all kinds by Ben Ellul-Knight & Tom White. Copies of the LP released by Calling Cards Publishing will be available on the night. Also performing will be Alicia Matthews (aka SUE ZUKI), a Glasgow based sound artist working with live performance, theatre, moving image and installation, and Giuseppe Mistretta, an artist who uses improvised electronics to create environments to inhabit. I've had it up to hear with fish & chips is a hörspiel about 'care work' of all kinds. In part it is auto-ethnographic, as it draws on Ben's experience working as a play worker, social worker and as a volunteer with refugee and asylum-seeker support services. More personal reflections are mixed with conversations Ben had with support workers, social workers, play workers and mental health nurses to form a script. Different speakers/singers were then invited to record themselves reading the script in any way they wanted and this was used as Tom's raw material for the composition. I've had it up to hear with fish & chips was first performed live in the Radiophrenia studio, Glasgow 2016.

Calling Cards Publishing invites you to come celebrate the launch of Hannah Dargavel-Leafe new record Fore Main Mizzen at SET in Dalston, London. Hannah will be doing a live presentation of the record. In addition, founding member of Let's Go Swimming Records, Endless Mow (formally Mack Ness) will be taking charge of the decks throughout the night. Expect experimental, leftfield and techno jams.
